Transfer Station, Stickers, Recycling

Payment of Waste Disposal:

Bagged household trash and recyclables may be disposed of at no charge for residents with current vehicle stickers. All other items, including construction and demolition waste, appliances, electronics, and large items such as furniture, are charged accordingly. See Williamsburg transfer station price list. All fees must be paid by check or coupons. Cash is not accepted.

Separate all recyclables and dispose in the appropriate bins at the transfer station. The Attendant has the right to inspect all bagged trash, and may reject trash containing recyclable materials or hazardous waste items.

Coupons:

Coupons may be purchased by check at the transfer station, and from the Town Clerk (in person or by mail).

To purchase by mail, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your check written to the Town of Williamsburg to: Town Clerk, PO Box 447, Haydenville, MA 01039.

To purchase in person, see the transfer station Attendant, or the Town Clerk at the Williamsburg Town Hall, 141 Main St., Haydenville.

Denominations are: $1, $2, $5, & $10. Booklets are available as follows: $15, $50, $100, $200.

Use of Transfer Station is limited to residents of Williamsburg & Haydenville.

Vehicle Stickers:

Are sold at the Transfer Station or at the office of the Town Clerk. Cost: $75 and $50 for those age 70+. Proof of Williamsburg/Haydenville residency (actual residency, not mail address) and your vehicle registration is required for purchase of a sticker. NEW STICKERS are sold starting in May as the stickers expire 6/30 of each year.

Note: Stickers are to be attached to the back of the rear view mirror, and visible to the transfer station Attendant.

No reduction in sticker price for part-time residents.

Where Does It All Go?

Your recycled paper, cardboard, glass, cans and plastic are hauled to the Springfield Material Recovery Facility.

Your household trash is hauled to the South Hadley Landfill. Note: the Town of South Hadley may inspect and reject loads of trash that contains recyclables. Recycle, recycle, recycle!
