Children, Teens and the “Growns” all to enjoy Summer Reading this year at Meekins
For the first time the Williamsburg Libraries will offer not one, not two, but three summer reading adventures.
On June 25th at 1:00 pm the fantastic family crowd pleaser Tim Van Egmond will help kick off this summer’s reading programs for children, teens and adults “One World, Many Stories”, “You Are Here”, and Novel Destinations, these programs explore countries and cultures from around the globe through reading, viewing and listening. Sign-ups for children, teens, and adults start at 12:30 on Saturday the 25th of June.
Tim Van Egmond weaves together tales, tunes, and songs – from the rib-tickling to the spine-tingling to the heart-warming. MUSIC flows in and around his stories through his singing and playing on a wide variety of traditional instruments, including hammered and mountain dulcimers, guitar, conga drum, and limberjack (a dancing wooden puppet that taps out a rhythm on a paddleboard). His dramatic use of VOICE and MOVEMENT brings stories vividly to life, and his gift of encouraging PARTICIPATION makes for high-spirited and engaging programs.
All three reading programs can be accessed online. Write reviews; keep track of your reading and more. Come to the library, sign up, and hear more about our online program and the many activities and prizes we have prepared for you this summer!
