Water & Sewer Bills

Each spring and fall, the water/sewer department goes to each house or property and reads the meters. Generally you can look for them in May and November each year.

If your meter cannot be read due to meter failure, your reading will be estimated and you will be liable for that charge.

Payments are due 30 days from the date of mailing and are noted on each billing. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Williamsburg and need to be received by the due date or additional fees and interest will accrue.

If your usage seems high, you may have an undetected leak. The easiest way to check this is to pick a time when you know no water is being used in the house and look at the meter to see if it is moving. If it is, there is water going through it somewhere. Check your toilets, faucets, outside faucets etc. You are liable for all water usage and even pinprick leaks add up quite quickly. If you have a problem with a leak, please contact a plumber. The Water/Sewer department is only responsible for your line to your property (known as the curb stop).
